Housing Minister drawing up plans for estate agents to resume work

The housing minister Chris Pincher has been in discussions with one of our governing bodies - NAEA Propertymark whereby discussions have taken place to get our sector back to work as soon as possible.  NAEA Propertymark have launched a campaign for the government to introduce what it calls a property sector package which would mean that agents would have to adhere to various things to include:

- Back to back viewings would be prohibited and vendors, landlords or tenants would be asked to leave the property if possible for viewings to take place

- Viewings not to be carried out on any property where anyone living in the property is showing symptoms of Covid-19, however minor.

- Buyers to wait in their car before they are told they can enter the property

- Viewings should be contactless, all doors to be open including all cupboards and doors open.

- Only 2 people from the buyers party can attend a viewing at one time

These proposals are being assessed by Public Health England and we hope that these are passed as we believe that it should be relatively easy for social distancing measures to be adhered to with viewings and valuations.
